The training explored how AI tools are already being applied in construction regulation to improve safety compliance, inspection planning, permit review, progress tracking, and anomaly detection through reference to licensing, inspection history, and contractor performance data. Practical examples included the use of computer vision for safety monitoring, drones for site inspections and progress verification, predictive analytics for risk based inspections, and AI enabled permit review systems used in jurisdictions such as Singapore, Rwanda, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training highlighted governance, legal, and ethical considerations relevant to the NCA, including data protection, transparency, accountability, bias risks, and the need for human oversight in high impact regulatory decisions. Participants engaged with internationally recognised frameworks such as the OECD AI Principles, the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, and the African Union AI Strategy, alongside Kenya\u2019s emerging national AI policy landscape.
